I did uninstall each, without restart, using Run opened Command Prompt and found the correct Class entry and deleted the Upper and Lower filters, not before making an export of the registry! It used to work fine, but suddenly I noticed that something was wrong when I put a disc in and it didn't recognize it.

If none of this works, you can try removing the drive and trying it in a different PC just to see if it is indeed a malfunctioning device Now with Driver Matic, a PC can have up to date drivers automatically.
