I will take you up on your offer. If you see the problem on the page, it's a bad toner cartridge. My Laserwriter select works great mechanically but toner coverage is light on one side of each printed page. Please sign in to comment. It could be as simple as a loose connector on the controller board. I have to buy remade or refilled now.

They're almost the cost of the printer. I'd hate to buy a new cart and find it doesn't help. Now turn the drum orinter with your thumb. Since it is a problem that shouldn't happen, and that you somehow put in, I'm unable to advise you how to fix it.

I really hate to do that, because I think there are only aboutpages on this drum. After the electricity keep going on and off, my Laserwriter starting flashing two yellow status lights -- paper jam and paper tray.

If you want I can send it to you; just need your e-mail address. Spock, just like the car gas tank jon cited in his analogy, it holds more gas, but doesn't make the car go faster. I believe there is a blade that cleans the drum that causes the issue - the blotches will be the same laseewriter apart as the circumference of the drum.

A very good friend gave me this printer It's been mentioned hundreds of times on the forum, but I guess it's never enough. Just found this thread.

Will try and see. Since the only thing I've ever seen cause that error in that model, I'm going to hazard a guess and say it might be the power supply module that supplies the Laserwrtier for the lamp.

I bought this from eBay.

You might try removing any add on memory from it and see if that might not be causing the problem. Clean the mirrors easier said than done!

Turn selevt off and set the selector to 4. I recently moved across the country and had carefully packed my toner cartridge separate from the printer.

Used the video and the print quality went way up on all 3 printers, but the one that had been the dirtest still had a very slight fade. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Should I need a better driver program other than that built-in with XP?

Hi Anonymous - do you happen to still have a copy of the printer manual and the cleaning manual - would very much appreciate a pdf copy.

I'm at a loss. My is suddenly smearing black on one edge of the paper. It sounds as though you laserwriher I have the same problem. This is a faulty toner cartridge. I'm running this machine that I got for free on my XP machine and it runs like a charm!

If interested, I can post one. If you see the black streak on the cartridge drum, then it is a bad cartridge.

Matt, I used the regular generic parallel printing cable with XP. Like paserwriter been mentioned before, pull back on the drum shutter and you'll see a smattering of toner. The laser window is the long, narrow piece of tempered glass visible when you open the front toner cartridge hatch. Print fades on the right side of a printed page.
